Soul: ID

soulid

Describing their music as Afropean Soul music, Soul: ID are a new soul group from Africa but now reside in the US. In 2007 they released their debut album Sex, Love & Philosophy on ABB/ABB Soul Records, and it is a very soulful album. For a few years, Soul: ID have created a buzz but it has been a stressful time for Soul: ID to find the right deal to release this debut album. Sex, Love & Philosophy, fuses studio sounds and soulful vocals, songs through out this debut album, reveal a common musical link to Jill Scott or Maxwell. Soul: ID members, Urban Deep, Tchai, V, and Dad’d, all are musical in some way or another. Sex, Love & Philosophy, offer addictive, and passionate soul grooves, if you like Jrod Indigo, Somi, Bilal etc, this album will satisfy your soul.

Movement Soul

movementsoul

Movement Soul was released back in the mid 1960’s on a Brooklyn based record label, Syndicore Music. It was produced by Alan Ribback, to educate listeners about the Civil Rights Movement. Soul and culture, is what Movement Soul is about, an inspiring collection of seven songs by Reverland CL. Franklin, Joe Townsend, The Nightingale Jubilairies, Babs Gonzales, SugarChile Robinson, The Helen Robinson Youth Choir, The Lord Prayers and The Meditation Singers. Spiritual, and expressive, leaving you with a deeper understanding of what black America went through during the Civil Rights Movement. Movement Soul is a series and this is the Volume 2 album, which starts with a strong poetry reading by Eloise Wilson.

Stacy Epps

StacyEpps

Finally a January 2008 review. And how long a wait it has been, sorry! Thanks to Rah of soulBEAUTIFULinc for sending Soulisms this download. It is a one song review taken from a new progressive, hip-hop/soul artist called Stacy Epps from Atlanta, Georgia. Reminds you of Aaliyah, Timbaland and a bit of the Little Brother vibe. She sings and raps. Floatin is an interesting song, good production, no complaints! With intelligent lyrics, beats, and serious musical approach. Floatin should get your head nodding. Hear big beats and bass lines, as Stacy Epps sings hypnotic style melodies. Her Stacy Epps Project is coming soon in 2008 on Japan Nubia Musik. Floatin is produced by Apex.
