2006 was a big year for Yolanda Johnson, she launched her own label imprint Meta Music Recordings, along with her Violet Flower EP. Yolanda Johnson is a refreshing songstress who is clearly under-rated, and highly deserving future success.

Yolanda Johnson adds sexy back to soul music. Since the age of five, she understood how music effected people, realizing how it makes people think and eases pain; how it uplifts, calms, and heals. Making music is natural to Yolanda Johnson. Her father Samuel Johnathan Johnson was a Columbia Recording Artist and she is also cousin to Charlie, Ronnie and Robert of the Gap Band.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, Yolanda Johnson now lives in Moreno Valley, CA right near Los Angeles, USA.

Sweet Yesturday was her debut album, in 2002, she offered an eclectic sound that can only be categorized as soul! Her hit single off her Violet Flower EP, Individual--is currently doing spins on the theme song for BET J's Soul Sessions.

Yolanda Johnson, in 2007 began producing her full length album, Breathing. Scheduled for release in April 2008, the buzz single is Intervention. Here, her hip-hop jazz collaboration effort between T3 from Slum Village and production by S1 of The Strange Fruit Project gives us hopes for this new talented soulstress.
